Why no Luciano Bottaro?
On the Wiki, you mean? Yes, absolutely. No one's written about it yet for the simple reason that we don't have any hardcore Quack Packers on the editing team yet, but if you want to write articles about Quack Pack episodes and so on, knock yourself out! Any licensed use of the Ducks is fair game.
@Dehpi , while this is an official tree and the one pictured in the original post is not, it is not "the correct family tree" — merely the famous one. Don Rosa has created several other drafts of this same tree, including an early one where Daisy is depicted as Mr Duck's sister. Johannes A. Grote's exclusive German tree says the same thing
And I mean, the version you posted doesn't deny that Daisy is the triplets' aunt, it simply doesn't positively say so.
Marco Rota's definitely one of the best artists to ever draw Disney comics, qua artist. I think Don Rosa's strength is that his artstyle (which, mind you, is no slouch even on its own terms) better fits Don Rosa's style of scripting than Rota's art tends to fit the scripts he gets. Rota — especially late Rota — isn't geared towards cartoony, and so there's an emptiness to his comedy ten-pagers. Where he really shines is in stories or scenes where he gets to tackle the moody and grandiose, as in Halloween Huckster or The Money Ocean.
I think we're good.
@Kilmarnock228 Ooh, I see. Well, thank you. What's the point of this page relative to Special:Images, though?
(And… ah, phooey. Yeah, the rename button is only available to admins, isn't it? Hm.)
If you're willing to put in the work, there's no one stopping you from going through all the "File:Screenshot_7808RBG67-1.png" images and renaming them to more sensible file names, but no, I don't think we should make this a big priority.
Oh, and @Kilmarnock228, what the devil is this "upload log" of which you speak?
At any rate, everyone, there's not much sense in moving the conversation now when we've all made our points here, but remember that the preferred venue for "Wiki management"-type discussion is the Discord Server. Rule 2 of Discussions is temporarily suspended (as in, we'll go ahead with what's been decided here, obviously), but please.
I think this was more of a throwaway joke. What Launchpad likely witnessed is the final end of humanity/the Earth/the Universe in the far future, not a specific catastrophe that happens in the short term and could be prevented.
I assume I was the fellow who closed the original thread. And look, I don't mean to come across as a big meanie, but do make an effort. Is it so hard to spell "I'm new" correctly, with the apostrophe, and things like that?…
All the same, welcome.
Hmm… well to be sure, at least broadly descriptive image files are preferable to "File: Screenshot 1976 at 27h86s.png" or "File:Kybrdsmshnnszglrgyrrr.jpg". But on the other hand, I wouldn't necessarily phrase this in terms of the Wiki "having a problem"; it's not as though we often have cause to search for images by name, is it? Most images on the Wiki are only destined to appear in one or two places.
If anyone has any specific suggestions of how we might make such an announcement (and I'm not against it), please head over to the Discord Server to discuss it. But while a recommendation couldn't go amiss, I don't think this is a priority.
@Respectwomen123 Are those meant to be the DuckTales 2017 versions? Not much sense in comparing the classic versions (outside of Quack Pack), I reckon, but do note that you've used pictures of the Prime Universe Huey, Dewey, Louie and Donald here, probably by mistake. Please bear in mind that they are different individuals.
No activity in well over a month—I'll be a-closing this now. And incidentally, while i acknowledge that this is probably a honest mistake rather than a Rule 6 violation, that third option should obviously be "No, stay away"; the "Duck" in "Darkwing Duck" should be capitalized in the title; and there should be a question mark after "reboot".
Very lovely! (I'm quite late to the party, aren't I.) I'll be locking this thread now since it hasn't seen any activity in a month, but 1st-born-hyatt-divergent-influencer, don't take it amiss. A hearty welcome all the same!
@Fireblade696 I am not entirely sure how you ended up here, being that you seem to believe that this is a "group" even though it is in fact the somewhat extraneous attached Discussion tool of a Wiki. Furthermore, the Wiki is about the Duck universe at large; not only does it encompass DuckTales as well as Darkwing Duck, but if it (the Wiki) is about one area of Duckdom more than another, then it's primarily a Wiki about the comics which also covers DuckTales and Darkwing Duck on the side, not a "DuckTales-focused" affair.
Which brings me to make another point explicit: so long as it's in some fashion related to Disney Comics, feel free, everyone, to talk about whatever floats your boat on this Discussions thing. Don't expect very many people to tune in, or, with very few exceptions, me to care very much. But this is a playground of sorts, for Wiki-editors to chit-chat about their common interest(s), not a rigorously-defined forum board (which is, of course, both a blessing and a curse).
Anyway, I'll be locking this per Rule 1.
@AJ Martino , will you kindly explain why you reported this post?…
Yeah, I can only concur that this seems, well, utterly meaningless. The fact that ten people voted on it suggests this may mean something more to Portuguese (?) speakers, but I'm not even sure.
For what it's worth, I don't think this post was made it bad faith, but it has, anyway, been active long enough. Closing this with some lingering befuddlement.
Agreed. It makes little sense to try to construe them as a single continuity as such. Of course, they are still connected in a distant sort of way, in that stories like The Two Darkwings establish that the universe of DuckTales 2017 (known as the 2017 Continuum) and the classic continuity (known as the Prime Universe) are parallel universes which can and do occasionally interact. And in the absence of evidence otherwise, everything but a couple of minor continuity points suggests that Legend of the Three Caballeros is set in the Prime Universe.
What makes you so sure, Fireblade? I mean, we already know that Gravity Falls is at least a valid parallel universe to the 2017 Continuum.
It's a bit strange to have Treasure of the Lost Lamp as its own entry. It's not a reboot of its own, nor even really standalone. It just fills like a longer, slightly-higher-budget episode of the 1987 series. At any rate, I'm locking this per the "two weeks" rule. But I really should have done so earlier for the "spelling" rule. DuckTales, for Merlin's sake.
I agree. Magica's a close second, but suffers from the fact that her motives are way too vague — it's clear that there's a reveal waiting to drop at some point in Season 3 that will recontextualize it all, but in the meantime, it hinders the character somewhat.
On another note, though, Brix, please pay more attention to your spelling. I wouldn't go harping on about things like "Don Carnage vs. Don Karnage", but… seriously? “Da Spell”? “Villan”?
