Toad Liu Hai, also known as simply Liu Hai, is a god from the 2017 Continuum.
Description[]
The Chinese god of chance and fortune, Toad Liu Hai is also a "luck vampire" who feeds on the good luck of others and is weakened by displays of bad luck. In the 21st century, Liu Hai used his magic to create a casino in Macaw, the House of the Lucky Gander, with which he lured in the luckiest man in the world, Gladstone Gander, hoping to feed on his luck. Gladstone, however, was able to call his family to his rescue, and trick Hai into attempting to absorb Donald Duck's luck. Because of how bad Donald's luck is, Liu Hai's power was almost entirely destroyed and he vanished along with his casino.
Behind the scenes[]
Toad Liu Hai, based on the mythological figure of the same name, appeared in The House of the Lucky Gander, the sixth of DuckTales 2017. He is one of the characters specifically created for the series, who presumably does not have a counterpart in the regular universe.
